Screeding is the process of laying a smooth, level layer of material over a concrete subfloor to create the perfect base for floor finishes — tiles, engineered wood, LVT, carpet, or resin floors. Screed is also used to encapsulate underfloor heating pipes, providing even heat distribution across the floor.
Traditional sand-and-cement (or "wet") screed is hand-applied and levelled at 65–75mm thickness. Liquid (flowing or self-levelling) anhydrite screed is pumped in at 40–50mm, sets extremely flat without trowelling, and is ideal for large areas and underfloor heating projects.
